Reimagining Supply Chain and Manufacturing Technology for Enterprise Success

The
Client

Andersen Corporation, a leading window and door manufacturer

Andersen Corporation, a leading multi-billion dollar enterprise in the window and door manufacturing industry, has been a valued client-partner of Cultura for over a decade. Headquartered in Bayport, Minnesota, Andersen has a strong presence across the U.S. and Canada, with over 40 manufacturing and distribution facilities and over 12,000 employees.

The Challenge

Navigating the complexity of accelerating a digital transformation across a large, matrixed organization

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted an urgent need for Andersen to transform their manufacturing technology roadmap, transitioning from siloed point solutions to an enterprise-wide design for end-to-end connectivity. This IT evolution was critical to Andersen’s goal of doubling in size. However, the process would be complex given their large matrixed enterprise, which spanned over 40 facilities and anticipated two major production expansions.

Andersen called on our team to help them hire their first dedicated senior IT executive for enterprise-wide manufacturing.

The Solution

Targeting top IT leaders with expertise driving Industry 4.0 transformations on a large scale

Our alignment sessions revealed Andersen wanted an executive who could guide them through this massive transformation and build a more extensive IT and Manufacturing leadership team capable of supporting future growth.

During the Research step of our PrecisonPath™ process, we analyzed over 100 progressive, innovative manufacturing companies, largely within the Midwest region, to pinpoint potential candidate prospects. We then built a chart of candidate prospects that yielded over 130 names, primarily leaders at the Vice President level or higher in companies with at least $1 billion in revenue.

Our robust research process enabled us to source a diverse range of high-caliber candidates with deep expertise in Industry 4.0, particularly those who had experience creating “smart factories of the future.”

The Outcome

A technology executive with extensive experience championing digital transformation at an enterprise level

“I have worked through and with a number of search firms. I can, without hesitation, say Cultura blew me away. They intimately knew their client and the position and were able to help me seamlessly navigate the process of exploration through acceptance. I cannot say enough good things about my experience."

After six weeks of intensive outreach engaging hundreds of top executives, we presented Andersen with a shortlist of six highly vetted candidates.

Andersen ultimately chose to hire an operations, supply chain, and technology executive of 23 years we recruited directly out of Mondelez International. There, he served as VP of Transformation, driving enterprise design, delivery, and implementation of a $120MM technology program portfolio.

Prior to that, he spent nearly 13 years with General Mills in various leadership roles, where he led the implementation of SAP, along with TMS and WMS solutions, across three countries. Since his hire, Andersen's CIO/CDO has shared extremely positive feedback regarding his impact.
