In 2022, Pentair made the most critical acquisition in their history with the purchase of Manitowoc Ice from Welbilt for ~$1.6B. The purchase was a key investment in their growth across end-to-end Water Solutions.

 

Manitowoc is a respected leader in the Ice Machine business, but there were challenges. Frequent ownership changes had disrupted the culture, while pandemic-related challenges had impacted product development, innovation, and supply chain stability.

The business required strong, hands-on leadership to navigate the integration process, restore cultural cohesion, and realign product development to support market expansion.

The Solution

Attracting top-tier talent to integrate the business and expand global growth

Pentair partnered with us to identify Manitowoc’s next General Manager. This position would oversee the ~$400M P&L, harnessing the strength of 800 employees and Pentair’s enterprise capabilities to drive product innovation and international growth.

Finding the right candidate was mission critical, but we knew that relocating to a smaller Midwest community might be a hurdle for top-tier talent.
