Pentair’s 1.4B pool segment is the North American market leader in the broader pool solutions category. It has historically performed well, but during the pandemic, surging demand for residential pool products reshaped the industry almost overnight.
Customers expected faster turnaround times, greater availability, and enhanced product innovation, placing immense pressure on Pentair’s supply chain and production capabilities.
While the company worked to address backlog issues and strengthen their supply chain, their go-to-market strategy lost momentum, and innovation took a backseat.
