Building Beyond a Billion: A Pivotal Supply Chain Hire

The
Client

Restaurant Technologies, a national leader in commercial kitchen solutions

Restaurant Technologies is a private equity backed (currently Energy Capital Partners + Conti) provider of automated cooking oil management and kitchen safety solutions. The approximately $1 billion business supports more than 45,000 customers through over 40 depots, integrating proprietary equipment, delivery, installation, and ongoing service.

The Challenge

Turning a systems investment into a scalable operating model

Following its Oracle Fusion implementation, RT wanted to build a more demand-driven supply chain. Priorities included improving parts availability, releasing cash tied up in inventory, and accelerating installation and service, while maintaining an already reliable oil supply operation.

RT retained Cultura to recruit its Head of Supply Chain who could design and implement the future operating model across planning, procurement, warehousing, and equipment refurbishment. The mandate required strategic vision, hands-on execution, and ownership of the entire function.

The Solution

Connecting leadership assessment to the realities of the business

Our intake work translated RT’s operational priorities into a clear leadership profile. The company sought a builder who could envision the future network, sequence improvements, and establish scalable processes without simply adding resources. Beyond technical expertise, the leader needed the confidence to operate independently and the humility to bring colleagues across the business into the work.

Our candidate-facing story emphasized the opportunity to build, the autonomy to lead, and RT’s differentiated equipment-and-service model. Assessment focused on demand-driven planning, inventory discipline, and the ability to connect supply chain performance with customer service and financial outcomes.

The Outcome

A transformational operations with measurable working capital results

From a slate of seven precisely assessed candidates, narrowed from an initial targeted group of over 140 prospects, RT selected an executive recruited from Sika whose approximately 20-year career included Best Buy, BASF, and a private equity-backed carve-out. He brought leadership experience in planning and inventory management across a multi-site network, alongside relevant experience with field-based replenishment and service.

He was not actively seeking a new role, but Cultura’s ability to articulate RT’s integrated business model and collaborative leadership culture drew his interest.
